Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo 2023

On Saturday 18th March the gates of Villa Carlotta reopened. Villa Carlotta, a jewel on Lake Como, is protected by the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) and visited every year by millions of tourists from all over the world. Every year Villa Carlotta welcomes its visitors when spring arrives: during this season it is possible to admire the blooming of camellias, roses, azaleas, rhododendrons and other wonderful flowers.

During 2023 the project “A Step in the Park, a Step towards the Future. Villa Carlotta, a Resource for the Area” will be open to the public together with visits of the garden with unprecedented views of the flowerings and Lake Como. Another novelty is “Life in the Villa. A Journey through time to discover the Underground”, an event inviting the public to visit a new multimedia space created by SFELAB with the contribution of INNOVAMUSEI where it is possible to admire the daily life, the dynamics and the roles of those who lived in Villa Carlotta in the late seventeenth century.

In addition to these two important projects, the traditional spring events of Villa Carlotta include:

  • Thematic visit of the Camellia (“The fleeting moment: the Camellia”, 1st April)
  • Thematic visit of Roses (“Rosa, Rosae”, 6th May)
  • “A Night at the Museum” (narrated visit, 20th May)
  • “Seeing the Stars again” (evening visit, 17th June)

Villa Carlotta is one of the most popular destinations for expert botanists and enthusiasts, but it is also a fascinating location where to admire the wonders of Nature. For those staying in the Tremezzina area a visit to Villa Carlotta is a must!
