Como Città della Musica Festival

Ten years after the first time in 2013, the Arena of the Teatro Sociale in Como is still the chosen location by the Festival Como Città della Musica, organized by the Teatro Sociale di Como in collaboration with the Società dei Palchettisti and with the support of the Municipality of Como, sharing the idea that Culture plays a fundamental role in the development of the city, both for citizens and tourists.

The title for this 2023 edition, “Su Noi Gli Astri Brilleranno” (On Us Stars Will Shine), is a foretaste of the theme of the forthcoming Season 2023-24 of the Theater, which is linked to the stars and celestial bodies. The opera on stage during the Festival will be Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida (three performances are scheduled: Thursday June 29, Saturday July 1 and Monday July 3 at 9 pm). “Su noi gli astri brilleranno” is a quote from the duet between Aida and Radamès.

The Verdi opera will be staged by director Mr Alessio Pizzech and conductor Mr Enrico Lombardi; together with the creative team and professional singers, as has become the tradition, also the Chorus 200.com with more than 200 amateur singers from Como will participate.

In addition to Verdi’s Aida, other highlights involving the public during the Festival will be:
– Candlelight, the concert format created by Fever with live music by candlelight; the Arceus String Quartet will performe a Tribute to Ennio Morricone and his Soundtracks as well as a Tribute to Queen
– the concert by Eugenio Finardi, on tour with Euphoria Suite
– Fellini’s Circus by the Compagnia Artemis Danza; a show with unprecedented fusion of circus art and dance recreating the wonderful world of Federico Fellini

The Festival Como Città della Musica is an excellent example of a cultural event strongly connected to the territory and at the same time of high international quality with the clear aim of involving citizens and tourist in a unique atmosphere in the city.
