Villa Capuana, Varenna

The extraordinary Villa Capuana is one of the oldest villas on Lake Como. It was built in 1605 by Ercole Sfrondati, Duke of Monte Marciano, probably on the remains of the antique roman villa of Pliny the Elder, and was subsequently owned by the Duke Serbelloni.

It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Como, a few steps from Fiumelatte, close to Varenna and offers breathtaking views of the Bellagio peninsula.

The property is a listed building and consists of three separate buildings and a large boathouse accommodating boats up to 7 meters. The property has retained many of its original features including vaulted ceilings, wooden and terracotta flooring and numerous frescoes.
