After summer, Christmas time is one of the most cherished seasons on Lake Como: every year about 300,000 people spend Christmas on the Lake. In Como there is always a special event where tourist and local citizens can submerge in the magical world of Christmas. After almost thirty years with “Città dei Balocchi” (an event that made Christmas in Como famous all over the world), “Natale a Como” kicks off: promoted by the new mayor Rapinese, the event will take place from November 26, 2022 to January 8, 2023.

“Natale a Como” has it all: the wooden stalls in Piazza Cavour offering artisan products and local treats, the ice rink in Via Corridoni in the lakeside gardens, the approx. 15 m high Christmas Tree in Piazza Duomo and the fairground rides including the famous ferris wheel in the Volta Temple area from which all the beauty of Como can be admired.
In contrast to previous years and in line with the intentions of the Municipal Administration to reduce energy consumption and promote sustainability, the lights that used to adorn the buildings in Piazza Duomo will not be present this year. Only some streets of the city will be illuminated with LED lights and thus the true Christmas atmosphere will be even more present in these areas.
