Structure

The interiors were finished by one of the most famous designers of the period, Giocondo Albertolli, who also worked onVilla Reale in Monza, in Palazzo Pitti, the Uffizi Gallery and in Villa Poggio Imperiale in Florence.

Over the centuries the villa has hosted numerous musicians, artists, writers and statesmen including Napoleon Bonaparte, Vincenzo Bellini and Winston Churchill.

Vincenzo Bellini, one of the most important Italian opera composers of his day, stayed at Villa Soave for a long period between 1829 and 1833 composing the operas Norma, Sonnambula and La Straniera during his sojourn. The music room is a special two-floor room decorated with 15th century frescoes. The piano, a Bluthner Grand Piano, which once graced the concert halls of Leipzig, has now been returned to the Villa in all its grandeur.

The villa has been carefully modernised and is equipped with all modern comforts including a gym, a billiards room and private bathrooms in every suite. The swimming pool enjoys a view of the Church of Sant’Agata della chiesa 12° secolo, Lake Como and the Italian gardens.

The gardens and park are amongst the oldest on Lake Como. As well as the gardens there is also a rich orchard and olive grove. The private jetty and the lake can be accessed from the villa by taking a path through the park and making your way through an underground tunnel beneath the gardens.

Villa Soave is available for weekly stays, short holidays and events.
Indeed, it is the ideal place for a fantastic holiday on Lake Como or a wedding, anniversary celebration or company event.
The main house has eleven large suites for guests with bathroom, a home-theatre TV room with bar, 2 dining rooms, a living room, a kitchen/barbecue, a billiards room and a gym.
The Villa’s rooms and bedrooms are lavishly decorated and painted. The floors are covered by Cotto Lombardo terracotta tiles, terrazzo and dark aged wood. The villa is rich in wonderful paintings, sculptures, rugs, tapestries and Venetian chandeliers. The kitchen is spacious and airy with a Subzero fridge and wine cellars, Viking and Gaggenau ovens, two dishwashers, a steam cooktop and a fryer.
The worktops are made from Verona marble and richly decorated hand-carved wood.
